"Masterstuck" Clock

----------------------------------

Alt-Deutsch style

Austria ca.1890's

Temperature compensated pendulum using some sort of odd metal and what appears to be quartz.  Interesting and unique design.

Several people that I respect said that this clock is clearly the masterpiece (masterstuck)  clock made by a apprentice that would be presented to the guild to show that he is ready to becomre a uhrmacher.

They said that such a clock must be completely made by the same person and also must demonstrate a new and unique contribution to clockmaking to be accepted.

This is a very, very rare piece because each clockmaker would have made only one.

Very, very heavy pendulum rod.
